We are marking a week since Ramadan started 💕 . Alhamdullilah, it hasn’t been as hard as i imagined thinking of long hours and the fact, that i am not taking time off my work this year. This year my goal is to master some of the habits and make Ramadan an enjoyable experience even working full-time. I want to share my experience so maybe it can benefit others, In sha Allah: 1. Eating differently this year, keeping iftars light: dates, 🥛, 🍉 , soup, 🍇 🍈, jasmine or peppermint tea. I had 2-3 iftars out and struggled, to be honest, after proper meaty meals. I read that dates with nuts inside of stones might be a good alternative for sugar cravings. 2. Now i am keeeping suhoor(pre-dawn meal) healthier rather than bigger concentrating on proteins and complex carbs, such as🥣 porridge with seeds, nuts, chia, flax, hemp seeds, berries or fruits, pb butter or sometimes 🍳 with fresh salad, 🌶 🌽, toast with 🥑 , 🥗 . 3. We need to drink at least 2Lt of 💧 between iftar and suhoor. When i miss suhoor and don’t have enough water, i immediately feel tired later. I just keep water in every room and even next to my prayer map so i can drink between prayers. 4. I admit, i still struggle with sleep management. I wish i mastered a napping skill, i can’t keep them short. So still trying to find a right balance of when to sleep and wake up. 5. Also late afternoon at work feels a bit unproductive, so i am working on either changing my work schedule to leave work earlier around 4ish and maybe then i can have a proper nap or just rest and read Quran. 6. Lots of physical activity. Apparently it is a wrong assumption that keeping low energy is good, it’s quite opposite. More you move/ work out, better you feel. I try to walk as much as i can at least on my way back from work or during lunch time.
